Full job description
As an Orthodontist, you will Examine, diagnose, and treat dental malocclusions and oral cavity anomalies. Design and fabricate appliances to realign teeth and jaws to produce and maintain normal function and to improve appearance.

- Effective communication skills; demonstrates professional and courteous demeanor with patients.
- An excellent knowledge of and interest in science, particularly the science of oral health
- Diagnose dental conditions.
- Diagnose teeth and jaw or other dental-facial abnormalities.
- Adjust dental appliances to produce and maintain normal function.
- Adjust dental devices or appliances to ensure fit.
- Fit dental appliances in patients' mouths to alter the position and relationship of teeth and jaws or to realign teeth.
- Adjust dental devices or appliances to ensure fit.
- Examine patients to assess abnormalities of jaw development, tooth position, and other dental-facial structures.
- Examine mouth, teeth, gums, or related facial structures.
- Design and fabricate appliances, such as space maintainers, retainers, and labial and lingual arch wires.
- Coordinate orthodontic services with other dental and medical services.
- A willingness and ability to relate to many different people
- A friendly, polite and helpful attitude towards patients
Qualifications (Experience, Education, Licensure, Certification)
- DDS or DMD degree, licensed in state in which practicing or have the ability to obtain licensure upon graduation.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certificate.
- Completion of a general practice residency (GPR) or advanced education general dentistry residency (AEGD) preferred.
- American Board of General Dentistry, American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, etc. (if applicable)
- Current DEA Certificate (Drug Enforcement Administration) registered in state in which you are practicing – For South Carolina a CDS Certificate (Controlled Dangerous Substance) is required to obtain a DEA.
